The tail of the ginger bread house...

This year we ( as in I ) decided that we would give gingerbread house making a whirl. Last week when they came on sale cheap at Michaela I thought to myself , " what a great family activity to get us in the Christmas spirit." I was SO wrong! Never again will I make ginger bread  houses. Here's how the activity went....

I convinced Bradshaw to help us out, He was thrilled, and he was even more thrilled when he made the icing sugar and had to put it in the icing bag which went everywhere! haha It was pretty funny.
So as Bradshaw attempted to put the ginger bread house together I fed Grayson who was screaming in the background.. It only added to the tension( is that not what Christmas is about?)

So the gingerbread house would NOT stay together ,it did not matter how much sugar we put on, we could not get it to stay up, and it did not help that we had two extra sets of hands trying to help us out.. BUT FINALLY we got it together and it was all because ....
I stepped in to help out, and well I got the job down... but not more then 3 seconds after it was up , Hayden and Shala were already putting candy on it( which we read later that it should sit over night to harder before you decorate it..)
and well because we forgot that small step .... the house began to fall apart once again...
but that did not stop them from continuing the decorating process..
Until it really started to fall apart...

and then before we new it , the house was down .... It was silent other then the cries from Hayden , the laughs from me and the wise remarks coming from Bradshaw...
But I spent the next half an hour putting it back together to let it sit over night ( even though I was SO tempted to just throw it out when Hayden we not looking)
the Next morning I found Hayden sitting on the table eating all the candy and icing off it... so this is our gingerbread house  Its as done as it is going to get , It will sit on my table cause I have know were else to put it and then in a couple days when Hayden is finished picking all the candy off, I will throw it away and I will NEVER be doing another one!

Hahahah, yep, that's what Christmas is all about. Too funny! I love the photo of Bradshaw. He and Aubey are a pair. Seriously, the coaxing it takes to put up our tree...
